"It is Alodie's cover images that draw people to my books. I fell in love with her artwork at first sight and knew it would be the perfect match to illustrate my stories. She is a delight to work with, listening to the brief but drawing on her dark imagination to conjure wonderful images that live a life of their own".

Sarah Gray, author of Surface Tension and Half Life - 2019

Surface Tension by Sarah Gray

I first met Sarah in 2014 when she saw me at my market stall in Herne Hill. Sarah was then working as a film maker and TV editor. She told me she was in the process of writing a book, and asked if I would be interested in illustrating it. I never expected to hear from her again and yet, a year later, she got in touch and we began work on her first book of short stories called Surface Tension. This beautiful, haunting book was published in 2015 and has received excellent reviews. Surface Tension was also made into an audiobook for the USA market.

Half Life by Sarah Gray

Half Life is the sister book to Surface Tension.  Sarah explores further, the eerie world that exists between the living and the dead. I had a wonderful opportunity to draw haunted Scandinavian forests, a possessed Victorian explorer's crazed journey and meet Death's brother, Jimmy. Half Life was published in 2016, again to great reviews and is also available as an audio book.

Angela's Footsteps by Angela Cobbin

Angela's footsteps is a very personal collection of short poems and ditties written by Angela Cobbin from the 1960's  to the present day. Sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, this book is perfect to pick up and read when you have a few quiet moments. You will find yourself returning to it time and time again. Angela is currently working on her next book, her autobiography which is set in the world of the theatre.

Angela grew up in Brighton and trained as a hairdresser before moving to London to study the art of wig-making. This resulted in an extensive international career which includes Madame Tussauds, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, National Theatre plus London’s West End and New York’s Broadway. In 2014 Angela was awarded the MBE for her services to the theatre. Some examples of my illustrations for Angela's Footsteps are featured below.
